Water Therapy For Dogs

Have you ever seen an oreo swim? Meet Oreo the dog. He is Africa's cousin by relation who lives in Colorado. One day he got to go to a spa for dogs. Here he had his own lifeguard, lifejacket, toy, heated pool, and friend. As far as I know Boerboels are not fond of swimming (correct me if I am wrong Stella and Dozer). If Africa was fond of swimming I guarantee you that should would be the first allowed to go to a spa between the two of us. Actually it wasn't very much. I believe it was 25 dollars for the first dog and 5 dollars for any additional dogs. I would check your local area for such a deal and give your dog a spa day to remember.

I'm off to beg my husband for a spa day for me since Africa doesn't swim. We're talking a REAL spa day.

  4. Hmmm I'm not to keen on water so I think I'll give the spa treatment a miss. I do like my pond however.

  5. Siberian Huskies are generally known for not liking water (makes sense, since in their environment, water would be deadly), but Cheoah LOVES to swim and my first Siberian, Nikita, would lay in a tub of water on hot days to stay cool. So not sure if you can always count on the breed to know whether or not they like water.

Regardless, the dogs who like to swim have a blast doing it.

  7. We have never had the chance to swim anywhere but Mom seems to think it is a great activity. We don't have one of those dog pools near us and we aren't so sure we want to try it:)

  8. I've never taken dozer swimming but its a good idea to just see what he thinks about it. BB's can swim. I've read that some have problems due to muscle density but I would think just about any dog can swim? Some freinds have bulldogs that cant swim so what do I know.. I think I'd rather just go to the spa myself. Africa and Dozer can run through the lawn sprinklers. :)

  9. Misty the alpha Poodle is a total water dog. She sees water and she is in it.

Timmy growls if his water dish splashes and does dog paddle in morning dew.

  13. Oh is Oreo a Border Collie? We almost named Hershey 'Oreo' initially because of the color thingy, but ended up with Hershey because I wanted a name that started with 'H' because of Huskee!!
    Oreo is a real cutie..

Spa.. hmmm sounds wonderful. It'd be heavenly if spa is followed with a manicure session!!

  14. Our dogs love to go swimming at Lake of the Ozarks and you can't keep them out of the water. Hudson even has his own swimming (kiddie) pool that he relucdently shares with Jackie.

  16. I would be there in a flash. I have a neverending love for the refreshing liquid and hop in any body of water that offers itself to me. It should also help with my recovery so I am hoping one of these dog spas pops up in my area pretty soon.

  18. such good exercise I've heard. Bundy refuses with all his 60 kilos to get into the water, and he is in complete amazement of any dog who happily dives into that wet stuff!
