Why I Don't Like to Watch the News

Photo Detail - Phoenix Arizona news, breaking news, local news, weather radar, traffic from ABC15 News | ABC15.com click on the link for 3 pictures.

A woman walking walking her dog in the Encanto Park in Phoenix,Arizona found this poor creature abandoned under a picnic table. Upon examination under the shirt she discovered that the dog's legs had been hogtied. The dog was starved and very scared. It kind of makes you sick doesn't it?

  2. Hey there, Kasha
what a terrible story! BUT that is the reality of the world we live in! We seem to be the only species on this planet that will, "DELIBERATELY", administer cruelty to another living thing. Why? who knows? Here in SA we have plenty of those stories. I am still trying to recover from an image of a 'cultural' celebration (of a passage of rites) where the young men kill a bull with their bare hands. It takes 45 minutes..the tongue is pulled out, the eyes are gouged out, etc, etc. (and someone took a photo...front page news!)
NOW...we can either turn a blind eye, or we can make ourselves aware! Yes, the first suggestion offers the least pain, but the second allows us to poise ourselves for action and to be prepared to stand up and fight...vocally!
I think you have chosen to be aware...and to me that seems the better option.
However, I too hate seeing those images and hearing those stories. Poor, poor pup!

  8. The cruelty of man (to each other and animals) holds no surprises for me any longer. I choose not to dwell on it but to look at this story and others like it with the knowledge that the dog was found by a good woman and paws crossed will lead a beautiful life. There are so many good people and organisations out there which is why collectively as dog lovers we should help them,we cant all take home a rescued dog but we can volunteer, help with food, charity events and donations....educate our own children and give them the ethics and values they will need to help animals... great though sad post love

  9. We won't let our mom click the link - but she gets the gist of the story. We believe God will have a special way of dealing with people like those who perpetrated this heinous crime.

  11. OMG that poor baby. I swear this is why I prefer pets to people. It's been shown that people who abuse pets will end up doing the same or worse to people. They should all rot in hell!!!

  14. Who would do such a thing? It's hard to fathom the inhumanity of some psychotic people.

BTW I was a news junkie until BO was elected. Now I just watch the news in moderation.

  16. It is at these times when I am ashamed to be part of the human race who is suppose to be the steward of this earth and all GOd's creations. We fail on so many levels it is embarrassing. WHO DOES THIS TO A POOR INNOCENT ANIMAL??? I only hope when people see such injustices that it moves them to do something positive to help animals out. I hope it moves them to get involved within their communities to make a difference and be part of the change you want to see in the world. They can foster dogs for their local shelters and rescues. Educate people about puppy mills and the list goes on and on....
